Manifesto

On August 21, 2017, there will be a total eclipse of the sun visible from several cities in Wyoming (as well as other states, of course).

This blog will provide information on where to go and where to stay to view this total eclipse.

One of several websites that gives information about the 2017 total eclipse in Wyoming is: http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/path_through_the_US.htm

The path of the total eclipse, visible from the United States, starts in Oregon, then goes to Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, a titch of Illinois, a tiny titch of southwestern Kentucky, Tennessee, a bit of southwestern North Carolina, and practically all of South Carolina.

Cities (most of them are really towns) that are in the path of the total eclipse of the sun on August 21, 2017 are Torrington, Wheatland, Guernsey, Glendo, Douglas, Glenrock, Casper, Arapahoe, Riverton, Shoshone, and Jackson, to name the largest.

The total eclipse will also be visible from Grand Teton National Park in the northwest corner of the state.

Totality will last, at its longest, for only two and a half minutes.

There's a little less than a year left before this event of a lifetime - if you want to come to Wyoming to experience this eclipse, this blog is your key to the best places to stay, and other things to do and see in this state in August.
